The Elko Police Department was formed in 1917 by the incorporation of the City of Elko. At the time of incorporation, the city had two police employees. In 2022 the Elko Police Department has 56 employees; 45 sworn law enforcement officers and 11 civilian employees. We serve 17.6 square miles and over 20,000 residents. We are committed to protecting our community and helping serve the citizens that live and visit the City of Elko.
